Cebu, Philippines, February 26, 2016. Finding the right talent in any organization is pivotal, it can be hit and miss however sometimes you come across someone that you know is determined to succeed.
With zero knowledge, Vincent was determined from the outset to succeed. What stood out at the time was clearly his attitude. He had determination in spades that made us all nod and accept him for the position.
Vince, as he is fondly called in the office, began his career last September 2014 as a freight operator for the import team of Total Back Office Solutions, Inc. The import team handles tasks of registrations for entering into CargoWise in any container mode: Less Container Load (LCL), Full Container Load (FCL), and Groupage/Freight All Kinds (GRP/FAK). With shipment origins from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, and even countries of Southeast Asia. He hurdled a Godzilla of tasks assigned to him and became the Freight Operator Monthly Awardee twice the following year. With his exceptionally and consistently high monthly accuracy ratings, Vince was given an additional task as an invoicer. In the same year, the client decided to offshore to Cebu Office several of their export transactions. TBOS molded Vince to be the full-fledged team leader for the newly formed team. Under his supervision, the new team once again delivered to the client’s performance level expectations.
In October 2015, TBOS client chose and invited Vince to cover for their requirement of a temporary freight operator in Melbourne, Australia to assist them during a peak period. There were no appropriate staff available on the market. Lack of human resources and a very high labour cost are the two big issues Australia is facing today. Thanks to TBOS and the likes of Vince, these critical problems of freight forwarders in Australia will be addressed. After a month of onsite training and exports processing, Vince came home with a suitcase filled with new tasks and responsibilities for the team with a skillset that rivals what the client can get locally. He is now well-rounded with the 100 percent export cycle. He has shown and has proven to the client that he is very competitive, trainable, and well-disciplined when it comes to learning new skill sets. Cebu Export Team is proud to announce that one of Vince’s staff is currently in Melbourne Office for a 3-month training and registrations. Our client’s export trade manager stated, “I am incredibly pleased with our export team in Cebu. I think everyone has come an exceedingly long way in such a short amount of time.”
